Hello! My name is Sam Duran, and I’m a photographer based in Eugene, Oregon. While I enjoy capturing a wide range of subjects, I’m especially drawn to landscapes, wildlife, and travel photography. My journey behind the camera began in 2018 during my sophomore year of high school, and it’s been a passion ever since.

One of my longtime goals has been to bring my work into the physical world. As photographers, so much of what we create lives digitally—on screens, in social media feeds, or stored away on hard drives. Back in high school, I was surrounded by talented artists whose work existed in a tangible form, such as sketches in notebooks or paintings on canvas. It made me realize how much I craved that tangibility as an artist.

For photographers, the moment that feels most tangible is the one when we press the shutter—when we capture a fleeting scene and turn it into a window into time and place. Creating prints allows us to bring those moments back into the physical world, making that window real and lasting. There's something beautiful, even magical, about that.
